TURKEY ELEVATION DATA and MAPS

We will tell a little bit of the technical story of Turkey's rise from the sea to Mount Ararat in these articles.

You will look at maps that are completely ours.

If you see our mistakes, if you write in the comments with the source, we will correct them as much as we can. So that there is a source for those who research.

The following sentences were written with humility.

We used the General Command of Mapping Mountain naming, Open Street Map peak points, 30-meter resolution DEM data, ESRI software and base maps. We also looked at sources such as Wikipedia and Governorships.

We tried to find the exact points of more than 6000 peaks. We tried to determine the most accurate altitude. I say tried because we could not see a summit data in this issue in an organized manner, in terms of coordinates, naming and altitude. If there is, we would like to look at it too.

Our country is very rich in terms of geography, folkloric, language and history. There are very beautiful mountain and hill names. Mountains are sacred places that are "visited". (Kizilca Ziyaret, Karababa, Nemrut) Each one has a story that goes back thousands of years. (Karanlicak, Karaömer, Gelincik Ana, Emekli Dede, Silly Musa) There are also small things like an official changing the name of a thousand-year-old mountain for "political reasons".
